HELPER- Margaret Erramouspe Turcasso, 85, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Sept. 2, 2010 in Price. She was born June 22, 1925 in Spring Glen, Utah to Mike and Mary Clerico Erramouspe.
On Nov. 27, 1947, she married Elmo A. Turcasso, her best friend and companion at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper, Utah. They are the parents of three daughters and one son, Denise (George) Ramonas, Washington, D.C.; Suzanne (Richard) Bremer, Waynesville, North Carolina; Nannette (Michael) Berensen, North Salt Lake, Utah; and Marc (Tamie) Turcasso, Price, Utah. Through example, she taught her children about the value of education and the importance of continuing on in the midst of adversity. Margaret adored her grandchildren Tyler Turcasso, Jessica Turcasso, Lauren Berensen, and Katherine Berensen. She is also survived by her dear brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Necia Erramouspe and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Jeanette and Katherine. Margaret graduated from Notre Dame High School, Carbon College, and Utah State University. She valued literature, the arts, and enjoyed traveling. Margaret spent many years working in the Carbon County School District and
was an excellent teacher.
Growing up, Margaret enjoyed spending summers horseback riding in the mountains of Aspen, Colorado, and loved to share memories about this time in her life. She will also be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, intellect, love of dancing, and her sense of style.
Margaret was involved in many community and civic activities. She was proud of the rich history of Carbon County and its people. One of her favorite experiences was serving as a state president of the Utah Ladies of Elks Association, where she made many life-long friends.
Funeral Mass, Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, 11 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper.
An evening service will be held Monday 7 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price. Family will be at Mitchell’s Monday and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Mountain View Cemetery in Helper. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum or the St. Anthony Catholic Church.
