A fire that has been burning much of the summer near Richfield flared up again on Tuesday filling the areas of Carbon and Emery counties with smoke.
The same thing happened about a month ago when winds from the south brought smoke into the Carbon and Emery area and residents thought a wild fire was burning.
When the smoke appeared on Tuesday afternoon, crews were dispatched to the area east of the Wasatch Plateau to find out if there was a fire in the area, but as of 6 p.m. no fire had been found burning in the local area based on information that came from the Moab Interagency Fire Center on Tuesday evening.
Fire agency crews continue to monitor the situation.
