Betty M. Plaga Mascaro

HELPER- Betty Marie Plaga Mascaro, age 81, passed away peacefully Oct. 9, 2010 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
She was born April 7, 1929 in Price, Utah to Eugene and Thelma Gunderson Plaga.
Married Nick Mascaro, Feb. 9, 1948 in Price, Utah. He died July 10, 1952.
Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was involved in many activities such as Helper American Legion Auxiliary, and 8 & 40. She was a Helper Museum volunteer and pinochle club member. Her gardening and putting puzzles together were a talent, and Betty was the best cook ever.
Survived by her son, Kirk E. (Jodi) Mascaro, Helper; sister, JoAnne (Terry) Bowns, Salt Lake City; brother, Happy Ray Plaga, Redding, California; grandchildren, Chris, Jamie, McCade, Melissa, Katy and Heele; ten great grandchildren and two on the way.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Mickey Ann Mascaro, and Kim Anderson; son, Michael Mascaro; brother Gean Plaga.
Funeral service, Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, 11 a.m., Helper LDS Stake Center. Family will receive friends Thursday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Betty’s request was to have donations sent to the Helper Museum or the Helper Jr. High School. Please send donations to P.O. Box 155, Helper, Utah 84526 C/O Kirk Mascaro.
