HUNTINGTON – Ellen Amber Barney Nielsen, age 84 passed away on Oct. 8, 2010 at her home in Huntington, Utah. She was born July 4, 1926 to Virgil Delbert Barney and Crystal Ember Thompson in Nine Mile, Utah. She married Ted C. Nielsen on April 23, 1946 in Price, Utah.
Ellen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved gardening, canning, sewing, quilting and farming, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and playing with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is survived by her children: Laura Nielsen of Duchesne, UT, Ted Roger (Lori) Nielsen of Price, UT, Allen (Kelli) Nielsen of Huntington, UT, Debbie (Randy) Curtis of Wellington, UT, Carry (Bridget) Nielsen of Huntington, UT; and Becky (Richard) Curtis of Helper, UT; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers: Allen (Carolyn) Barney of Ogden, UT, William Barney of Helper, UT, John (Jenny) Barney of Helper, UT; and one sister, Sally Stover of Seattle, WA.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons: Michael Nielsen and William Nielsen; grandsons: Louis Keller and A.J. Nielsen; granddaughter, Jennifer Amber Tweddell; and brothers: Gale and Edwin Barney.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary Chapel (680 East 100 South – Price, Utah). A viewing will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South – Price, Utah) and on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the mortuary.
