Emery cross country participates in region and state

Both the Emery High boy’s team and the Emery High girl’s team competed in the just completed state cross-country championships held at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City.
The boy’s meet was won by Bear River High with Canyon View High second and Park City High third. Richfield had the best finish of any region 12 school with a sixth place finish. Juab was seventh, North Sanpete was 14th, Delta was 16th and Emery was 17th.
The girl’s meet was won by Park City High followed by Cedar High and Canyon View High. North Sanpete had the finish at fifth place. Delta was 12th, Juab was 13th, Manti was 14th and Emery was 15th.
The individual boy’s champion was Ben Saarel of Park City High with a time of 15:56.9. Spencer Fehlberg had Emery’s best time with a time of 18:44.1
The individual girl’s champion was Darian Sharp of Desert Hills High school with a time of 19:15.1. Jaecee Bird had Emery’s best time of 23:14.7.
Also competing for the Emery High boy’s team were Leedan Johnson, Brendon Jorgensen, Jeremiah Luke, Randy Allen, Conner Benson and Weston Allinson.
Competing for the Emery high girl’s team were Kassidee Oakenson, Ashlee Guymon, Jessica Seavers, Tiffany Funk, Tayler Jewkes and Jessica Murray.
