Register Now for December ACT
Test registration is now open for the Dec. 11 ACT achievement test. Students who wish to take the college admission and placement exam must register before Nov. 5. During registration, students may select up to four universities to receive their score reports. ACT scores are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities across the United States. ACT reports scores only when requested to do so by the student. Additional score reports are available for a small fee. The cost for the ACT test without writing is $33. When combined with the optional ACT Writing Test, the total cost is $48. Students who qualify may apply for a fee waiver through their high school counselor.Students may also pick up registration forms from their high school counseling offices. Registration is available until Nov. 19 for an extra $21 fee.

USU-CEU Bread ‘N Soup Night
USU-College of Eastern Utah’s 12th annual Bread ‘N Soup Night to benefit the Carbon County Food Bank begin Nov. 1 and will continue consecutive Mondays until Thanksgiving. All are welcome to attend between 5-6:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center. Prices are $6 for adults, $5 for students 18 and over, and $4 for students under 18. Children 5 and under are admitted free. For the price of admission, each person will receive two tickets, each good toward one bowl of soup. Last year, USU-CEU’s Bread ‘N Soup Night donated a record high $3,000 to the Carbon County Food Bank, making a grand total over its 11 years of existence to more than $23,000.
Volunteer Drivers Needed for Veteran’s Shuttle
Volunteer drivers are needed to transport Veterans to and from their medical appointments. The seven passenger van travels from the Price community to the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Here is an opportunity for you to show your appreciation to those who have served our country. Volunteer drivers provide a vital service with the satisfaction of helping our heroes. You need to be dependable, have a decent driving record and in good health. Huntington Youth City Council

BLM Plans Prescribed Fire for Autumn and Winter Months
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Price Field Office and the Canyon Country Fire Zone will be conducting prescribed fire activities this fall and winter on public lands in the vicinity of Price. Two areas targeted for burning as conditions allow include the Columbia project near East Carbon/Sunnyside, and the Price Canyon project on slopes west of Highway 6, north of Helper.

Emery County Recreation & Emery County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue Team Introduce Rappelling Classes
The Emery County Rec. Department and the Emery County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue Team are teaming up to provide rappelling outings to groups, whether its family, friends or you can join us on your own for a day trip rapelling until your heart’s content.
Cost: $25 pr person with a minimum group size of 10. This will be offered year round (weather depending)
A Rapelling instructor(s) and all rapelling gearwill be provided.
