The Banasky family insurance company is working to change two holidays for the children of Carbon and Emery counties as well as throughout the state. For Halloween they raised acres of pumpkins which they have donated to the local schools free of charge. They also had pumpkins at their office in Price and other locations and these pumpkins were available for a modest donation. These donations for pumpkins have added up and now the Banasky’s will help with another holiday, Christmas.
All proceeds raised by the pumpkins will be donated to the Angel Tree program to help underprivileged children in Carbon and Emery counties have a Merry Christmas.
Scott Banasky said, “The people in Carbon and Emery counties are really generous. This project wouldn’t have been possible without their help. We have a ranch in Green River and grow acres of pumpkins and also watermelons. This project has been a delight. We have seen so many smiles on kids faces as they each pick out their own pumpkin when we go to the schools. I have the job of delivering most of the pumpkins. We have had so many people jump in and help to unload the pumpkins at each location. Seeing each of the kids smile when they pick a pumpkin makes it all worthwhile. Some of the children who have come by the office to pick out a pumpkin only had a small amount of money and they were able to pick out pumpkins and they donated whatever money they could to the project. They knew the money was going to help the Angel Tree program and they wanted to pitch in and help too in any way they could. Some of the kids were so excited to know they could pick out a big pumpkin. We had a good crop this year with several large pumpkins, some too big for the kids to lift.”
Banasky said it’s great for their insurance company to be able to give back to the communities who have been so supportive of them and their insurance business over the years.
Now the spirit of the Great Pumpkin will move on to the Christmas season as the proceeds donated will help bring smiles to little faces on Christmas.
