A special event was held in Green River on Saturday. Organizers said, “It was our honor and privilege to host a dinner for all of our 65 Green River Veterans on Nov.6. Special recognition was given to our World War II Veterans, which include: Orson Anderson (Army Air force), Carlton Casper (Army), Jack Erwin (Navy), Bill Newland (Marines), and Paul Price (Army). A short biography of these special mens’ years in the military was given which sometimes brought a smile and a tear to the audience.
“We want to thank all the Green River Veterans that attended the dinner and to everyone that helped make this a special tribute to our Veterans possible, the turn out was great and everyone enjoyed the delicious dinner and a very special program, from the talks about the Veterans to the beautiful songs, it was a very inspiring day for all that attended.
“It is with grateful appreciation for outstanding service to our country that we honor all our Green River Veterans so when you see any Veteran be sure and give him a smile and a great big thank you for a job well done, they are special,” said organizers. The event was hosted by Beta Zeta Sorority of Green River.
