HELPER-Lucy Ann Norton, age 78, passed away on Nov. 3, 2010 in Price, Utah. Lucy was born on Jan. 14, 1932 in Helper, Utah.
Lucy was one of four children born to Joseph E. and Neta Julander Lopez, she was born and raised in Carbon County and graduated from Carbon High School. She married Howard Charles Norton on June 1, 1949 in Helper, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Dec. 19, 1996.
Lucy worked as a cook for many years and volunteered for 20 years during the Carbon County elections. She loved to read and do embroidery work, enjoyed taking rides with her family and especially enjoyed cooking for family and all occasions.
She is survived by her husband, Howard and sons: Howard Charles (Loraine) Norton of Henderson, Nev. and Gregory Guy Norton, of Price, Utah, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Neta Christine Lofton, brother, Frank Lopez, infant brother, Jr. Lopez, and sister, Reina Elaine Humphrey.
The family would like to thank Terri Redman for her loving care to Lucy during the last four years.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Helper LDS Stake Center. A viewing was held on Saturday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior the services at the church. Interment was in the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper.
