BEAVER DAM,ARIZ./PRICE-William Harold Gentry was born in Royal, Utah on Oct. 1, 1928 to Harold William and Melinda Gentry. He passed away peacefully at home in Beaver Dam, Ariz. on Nov. 2, 2010.
Bill leaves behind his attentive and loving wife Dorothy Gibson Gentry who he married on Dec. 16, 1950 and together they had four beautiful children.
He also leaves behind his daughters Pamela Gentry Hall (Del) and Penny Gentry Fischer (Jim), daughter in-law Tammy Gentry Hoffman, Ruth Pecharich (sister), granddaughters, Tina, Kim, Tracie, Stefanie and eight adoring great-grand children.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Bill worked in the coal mines, drove bus for Carbon County School District and retired as Superintendent of Transportation, Carbon County School District. Bill was a member of the Price Elks Lodge #1550. The job he loved the most was driving bus. You were one of his favorites if you sat on the steps or got kicked off the bus. Bill taught his daughters the value of working hard and giving 100 percent all of the time. It was important to him that honesty and integrity went hand in hand.
His two son’s Billy and George left him more than 30 years ago and were waiting with open arms to greet him. He also was met by his grandson Christopher George Hall and granddaughter Billy Gentry Brown. Also waiting in anticipation were his parents, brother’s Jack Gentry, LaVille Auberger, Gardell Auberger and sister Claudette Auberger House.
