SPRING GLEN- Our loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, John Marasco, age 90, passed away peacefully Jan. 27, 2011 with his loving wife Joy, at his bedside.
He was born Jan. 12, 1921 in Spring Glen, Utah to Ross and Rosa Pinarelli Marasco.
Married Emma Marie Passarella Oct. 11, 1940, she passed away Oct. 17, 1982.
Married Joy H. Milano Sept. 29, 2000 in Price.
John was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper. He honorably served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post 2379 and a retired member of the U.M.W.A. Castle Gate local 8622, with 50 years of dedicated service in the coal industry and a member of the Price Elks Lodge 1550.
Survived by his loving wife, Joy Marasco, Spring Glen; son, Richard J. (Darlene) Marasco, Woodinville, Wash.; daughter, Janice (Jerry) Shaff, Elko, Nev.; three step-children, John and Dan Milano, Linda Olsen and their spouses; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma; brother, Tony Marasco, sister, Antonette Pero.
Funeral Mass, Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, 10 a.m. St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper.
Vigil service, Monday evening 7 p.m. at the church in Helper. Family was at the church Monday and Tuesday one hour prior to service. Entombment, Price City Cemetery.
