PRICE-Our kind and loving husband, father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, William Alfred Davis, age 80, passed peacefully at home on March 3, 2011.
He was born Aug. 26, 1930 in Sweets, Utah to Bill and Melba Quinn Davis.
Bill was a life long resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School in 1948. He married his high school sweetheart Jacquelyn Peak on Sept. 23, 1949 and this year they would have celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Bill was a hard worker who instilled a good work ethic in his children. He held several jobs during his lifetime, but his most memorable were driving a route truck for Meadow Gold Dairy for 27 years, and then driving the Holsom and Wonder Bread trucks. For 19 years his second job was driving a school bus.
After retiring, Dad and Mom volunteered as a campground host for several years in their motorhome. Their favorite spot was Flaming Gorge.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jackie; children, Bill Davis Jr. (Georgene), Clydie Olsen (Larry), Scott Davis (Susan), Bonnie Stowell (Blaine), Tracy Jumper (Scott), Doug Davis, Melba Black (Ward), Chuck Davis (Sherrie); his grandchildren, Bill Davis III, Gina, Danette, Nanette, Paulette, Misty, Nikki, Harlan, Sally, Ian, Ryan, Kandice, Reannon, Kassi, Crystal, Josh, Heidi, Rachel, Jason, Skylar, Libby, Matthew, Heather, Daniel, Robee, Andee, Macee, Michael, Kimberly, Jennifer, James,Vincent, Joe, Heather, and Zoe; and many precious great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille Purcell; sister-in-law, Ann Peak; special nephew, Laurie Bowman (Dad’s only little brother); and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Colleen Greenwood and Wilma Buskirk; brothers-in-law, Philip Buskirk, Ivan ” Lucky” Purcell and Wayne Peak; and great-grandchildren, Jayden and Autumn.
Graveside service, Wednesday, March 9, 2011, 11 a.m., Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
