ORANGEVILLE/SALT LAKE CITY-Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and longtime friend, Mary Etta Smith Taylor, age 67, returned home to her Heavenly Father on April 1, 2011.
She was born March 13, 1944 in Provo, Utah to Clayton W. and Maurine Clark Smith.
Married George Bruce Taylor, July 1961 and they were blessed with three loving sons.
Mary was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was active in the scouting programs and primary. She devoted her life to her family and for years she dedicated her life to the care of others.
She was a longtime resident of the area where she managed the Crest Café in Price. After leaving the area, she moved to Salt Lake City where she worked as a cashier for Dan’s Foods for 16 years. After retiring she spent her time traveling from yard sale to yard sale and making her spontaneous trips to Wendover. Mary will always be remembered for her generosity, kindness and devotion to others.
She is survived by her sons, Lloyd Bruce Taylor, Salt Lake City, George Ross Taylor and John Allen (Sandy) Taylor, both of Price; brother, John (Janet) Smith, Helper; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, grandson, Tony Lee Taylor; and sister, Dian (Ron) Jewkes.
Funeral service, Friday, April 8, 2011, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price. Family will be at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Orangeville City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Mary at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
