CASTLE DALE-Faun Coakley, 91, a longtime resident of the Emery County area, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, in Grand Junction, Colo. Faun was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Orangeville, Utah, to the late Melvin Stilson and Clara Ella Hall Stilson. She attended school and church in Orangeville. She married John Wesley Coakley and later divorced.
She worked as a housekeeper in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City and the clinic in Castle Dale.
Her proudest times were showing off her family. Faun’s love for others touched the lives of many people through her sweet and gentle spirit and kind and loving heart. She served her Heavenly Father in all things. She taught Sunday school every day of the week through the way she lived daily.
A few words to described Faun would be sweet, gentle, funny, selfless, giving, loving, prayerful, faithful. Her last words were “don’t worry about me.” She was always selfless and concerned for others and will be greatly missed by many.
Those left here on earth to cherish her memory include her one daughter, Connie (Loren) Roth; two granddaughters, Julie (Victor) Mariano and Shellie (Allen) Etcheverry; five great-grandchildren Justin Etcheverry, Alisha Etcheverry(David) Oest, Vicky Mariano (Josh) Gordon, Emilie Mariano and Vincent Mariano; three sisters, Blye Gregersen, Roma Christsen and Celo Pat Dewitt along with numerous extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Jack Stilson, and brothers, Lyle Stilson and Owen Stilson.
Funeral service waws held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Castle Dale LDS Stake Center (35 East Main St.). There was viewing Saturday from 9:30-10:30 at the church prior to the services. Interment was in the Orangeville City Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest alongside her parents. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
