1914-2011
PRICE-Caroline Feichko Asay passed away peacefully at home on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011, at the age of 97.
She was born in Clear Creek, Utah on Feb. 23, 1914, the first child of Joseph and Elizabeth Papp Feichko. Caroline was a longtime resident of the area where she grew up in Clear Creek, Scofield and Price.
She married Jesse Juan Asay in Castle Dale, Utah on Aug. 23, 1935, and it was in Price that their daughter and two sons were born. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on July 22, 1964. After 30 years of marriage, Juan died on Feb. 8, 1965 and she remained a widow for the remainder of her 45 years of life.
She was a much loved grandmother to 13 grandchildren, Ka, Kerry, Kelly and Kory Lloyd, Jeanne, Kevin, Troy, Jessica and Jesse Asay, Robert, Richard, Lynette and Matthew Asay.
Caroline is survived by her daughter, Joyce Elizabeth (Lavell) Lloyd, Salt Lake City; sons, James Ray (Merlene) Asay, Price, Gerald Joseph (Linda) Asay, St. George; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; beloved sisters, Josie Lutton, Salt Lake City, and Dolly (Lawrence) Stella, Price.
She was preceded in death by parents, her beloved husband, Juan; three brothers, Louis, Fred and Joe Jr.; two sisters, Mary and Vera; and a precious great-great-grandson, Skyler Jack Graham.
Funeral service, Wednesday, April 27, 2011, 11 a.m., Price Second LDS Ward (449 North 100 East) in Price. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price Tuesday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
