Gena Dominica Beacco

PRICE-Our loving sister, aunt and dear friend, Gena Beacco, age 74, passed away June 2, 2011 at Pinnacle Care Center. She was born Sept. 26, 1936 in Price, Utah to Amedeo Beacco Sr. and Barbara Mele.
Gena left her home in Price to become a registered nurse and she graduated from St. Benedict’s School of Nursing. She followed that accomplishment by entering the convent and becoming a Daughter of Charity. During her time as a nurse/nun she worked in a leper colony caring for the very sick
Throughout her life, Gena always remained a “Person of Charity” and now her worried mind is finally at rest. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff at Pinnacle for their excellent care of Gena.
She is survived by her brother, Amedeo Beacco Jr., Price; nephew, Mike (Martha) Beacco, great-nieces and nephews, Drew (Adrienne), Sarah, Deric and Delaney Beacco, all of St. George; cousins, Lois, Jim and George Snyder; many other loving cousins, friends at New Life Ministries and the devoted staff at Pinnacle Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Alice Beacco.
Funeral service, Monday, June 6, 2011, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Sunday evening from 6-7 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
