CASTLE DALE – Richard Joseph Boyle, age 55, passed away May 28, 2011 in Price, Utah. He was born April 29, 1956 to John Henry Boyle and Eileen Theresa O’Leary in Homestead, Pa. He married Sharon L. Cotter on May 15, 1976 in Brisbin, Pa.
Rick was born and raised in Homestead, Pa. He attended Moshannon Valley High School and graduated in 1975. He was actively involved in Student Government, and was a member of the high school football team. After he was married he began working in surface mining in Pennsylvania for four years. Shortly after, he attended Penn State Mine Mechanics and Electrician School.
In 1980 he and his family moved to Emery County and he began working for Emery Mining/Energy West until 2004. Later in 2004 he began working for MSHA.
Rick enjoyed the outdoors; exploring Utah, and loved being an “unofficial” tour guide.
He loved building, machining and working with his hands. He found joy in helping others and often gave of his time and talents.
He is survived by his wife; Sharon and children: Megan Eileen (Steven) Gage of Denver, Colo., and Anne Elizabeth Boyle of Castle Dale, Utah; two grandchildren: Jaiden and Christian; brothers and sisters: Bonnie (Wayne) Harvey of Sarasota, Fla., David (Judy) Boyle of West Mifflin, Pa., Russell (Lori) Boyle of West Mifflin, Pa., Larry Boyle of Sarasota, Fla., and Judi (John) Lesko of Patton, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who always cared about the well-being of others

A viewing was held Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary and on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 10 – 11 a.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 North Center Street – Castle Dale, UT.) Interment was at the Castle Dale City Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Rick at www.fausettmortuary.com.
