Sarah Swalberg three-peat champion in javelin

Of the nine members that made up the boys and girls Green River Pirate track team, six of them made it to the award podium in one of their respective sports, two made it more than once. Sarah Swalberg stood three times on the podium, once as the 2011, ‘three-peat’ 1A girls javelin state champion, a second time as the fourth place finisher in the shot put and as the sixth place finisher in the discus.
Megan Hatt stood on the podium as the 2011 second place finisher in the 100 meter hurdles and as the third place finisher in the 300 meter hurdles.
Justin Johnson placed third in the boys javelin while older brother Jason placed sixth in the shot put. Sister Jamie surprised her family and team by jumping her personal best in the long jump (15-04.5) landing her solidly in second place on the award podium. Sophomore Dallice Johnson posted a 14-06 jump landing her in sixth place on the podium. After 16 events, the girls track team amassed 45 points with five girls competing, landing them in fifth place overall.
