HELPER-Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, LaRue HemmingDavis, age 88, passed away on June 14, 2011.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1922 in Springville, Utah to William Robert Hemming and Alice Rebecca Brailsford. She was raised in Soldier Summit and Helper, Utah. She graduated from high school and attended LDS Business College. LaRue married Nolan Gibson Davis on March 7, l946 in Helper.
Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
They owned and operated Nolan’s AG Market in Helper for more than 35 years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She loved her family, and treasured the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. After retiring, she enjoyed genealogy, doing puzzles, and playing cards. For the past few years shelived with Tom and Laurie in Stansbury Park, Utah.
LaRue is survived by her children, Tom (Laurie) Davis, Stansbury Park, Utah and Lisa (Dan) Child, Emerald Hills, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Talene Davis David, Bart Davis, Trevor Davis, Ty Davis, Ben Child, Jeff Child, Chris Child and Tim Child; and known as “Grandma Great” by her six great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Wilma Peterson and LaVern Enright.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband Nolan; daughter, Lori; sisters, Ellen Matson Huntsman, Maurine Hemming, and Josephine Nutter.
Funeral service, Saturday, June 18, 2011, 11 a.m., Helper LDS Stake Center, (150 Ridgeway), Helper. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home( 233 East Main Street) in Price, Friday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. and at the church in Helper Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of LaRue online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
