Rich Arthur Wilder, age 94 passed away June 14, 2011 at Utah Valley Regional Hospital Provo, Utah surrounded by his family and loving wife of 51 years. Born March 13, 1917 in Lovell / Big Horn, Wyo. to Edward and Delma Rich Wilder. Married Norma Thomas, later divorced. Married Veloy Mae Grundvig Feb. 27, 1960 – their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple Feb. 26, 1977.
A true pioneer Rich walked with a wagon company to Salt Lake and further points of Utah at the age of eight. Living in multiple areas in Utah, Rich settled in Wellington in 1960 where he resided until his death. Rich had opportunities in life as a police officer and city council member for Wellington City. One stop on his journey was spent 40 years making and delivering dry ice. He also drove semi trucks for Carbon County Road Deptartment for 10 years. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting and camping. As a true patriot he was highly involved was the remembrance of those that gave their all to protect our freedom.
Survived by his wife Veloy and children – (LeeAnn) Jake Jacobson, Salt Lake City, Utah (Rich Jr.) Jeannette, Huntsville, Utah, (Connie) Richard Bartholomew, Bountiful, Utah, (Allen) Leslie, Tetonia, Idaho, (Brent) Mary, Wellington, a house full of grand and great-grand children and plus any kid that wanted to call him Grandpa.
Proceeded in death by parents, four brothers and one sister, one grandson and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Wellington LDS First Ward Chapel (50 North 100 East). A viewing will be held Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South – Price, Utah) and on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Wellington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Rich at www.fausettmortuary.com.
