Jamie Deon Franklin

By By

Jamie Deon Franklin, age 42, finished a valiant life’s battle and returned to her Heavenly Father on July 3, 2011. She was born July 22, 1968, in Price to James Andrew Franklin and Judith Ann Jones Denny. She was raised in the Carbon and Emery Counties and attended Wellington Elementary, Price Jr. High and Emery High School.
Jamie loved her animals and especially loved her horses Mariah and Rio, and her dogs Bingo, Ginger, Mr. Bear and many others. Her favorite color was blue. The outdoors was her world. It could be hunting, fishing, camping, training horses and racing them as a jockey. She went on many cattle drives and elk hunts.
Jamie had many dear friends and loved her family with all her heart, even going so far as to ride her horse with her dog 25 miles from Cleveland to Wellington and Price to visit her brother and grandpa. One Thanksgiving she rode in to Price to visit her Aunt Claudette and rode back again. Jamie will always be our “princess”.
Jamie is survived by her mother Judy Denny and her father James Franklin, a sister Terrie (John) McCullough and two brothers, Buddy James Franklin and Don Lee (Shirley) Franklin, along with her nephews Brandon and Byron Fletcher, and Joshua Franklin, and niece Amber Franklin and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her grandparents Claude and Wanda Jones, and Andrew and Ina Franklin, a sister Sherry Kay Franklin, a nephew Bradley Allen Fletcher and her uncle Dick Schade.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from noon to 1:45 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home, 620 N. Main in Huntington, with a service to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Wellington City Cemetery under the trusted care of Heritage Funeral Home.
