Greg and Tina Oliver have been chosen as the honored citizens for the Cleveland Days 24th of July celebration. Greg is originally from Carbon County. He currently works as a manager for Trimac Transportation in Cleveland. Prior to his employment with Trimac he worked for Savage Transportation for 31 years where they traveled and lived in Colorado, Pennsylvania and California. Tina is originally from Hayden, Colo. where she was active in sports including basketball, volleyball and softball. She is currently employed at the Emery County Progress newspaper.
Greg and Tina have seven children and 16 grandchildren. They have enjoyed living in Cleveland for the past 11 years. Greg and Tina have enjoyed being active in coaching sports and attending their children and grandchildren’s activities.
They are a special part of the Cleveland community. Greg has been on the fire department since he moved to town and Tina helped to keep the softball and baseball fields ready for play for many years. She is very supportive of Greg and the hours he spends volunteering. Greg served as a Cleveland Town council member for nine years. He has been the fire chief of Cleveland for eight plus years and was recently named the District Fire Chief for all of Emery County. Tina is an animal lover and her dog and cats are very special members of the family.
Greg is on the Emery County Search and Rescue. He enjoys helping people and enjoys his job on the fire department and search and rescue. He is well trained on all of the fire department equipment and he strives to make sure all of his firefighters are well trained. He enjoys preparing the fireworks for the Cleveland fireworks show each July 24.
He keeps things safe while putting on a spectacular show unrivaled in all the county. Cleveland Town would like to thank these special citizens for all of their contributions to make Cleveland a great place to live.
