Terry “Shane” Gortat

Our Sweet Shane, age 48, passed away from natural causes on June 26, 2011. Shane was born on Jan. 5, 1963 to Terry and Joann Madill Gortat, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Shane worked for Pacific Corp Mining and Kennecott Copper. He found peace and solace being in the mountains and near the water. Shane was a devoted father. His children were his greatest accomplishment and source of joy. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Shane is survived by his mother, Joann; siblings Tony (Tammy), Tammy (Kevin) Killpack, and Shane’s twin sister, Kerrie (Mark) Mayhew; children Shyloh, Codee, Kyle, Autumn and Madison; as well as many others who loved him. He is preceded in death by his father, Terry.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 1-3 p.m. at The Adventure Church, 352 W. 12300 So. (located behind Central Auto Body), Draper, Utah.
