Fred R. Lowry, formerly of Castle Dale, passed away in Southern California.
He was born in the Panama Canal Zone after which his parents and four siblings moved to Castle Dale, which was home to him for many years. He loved people, life, and helping others. As a young boy he worked for Dr. Turman and was such a help to his mother and family.
He joined the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, was a surveyor with a major company while working and building the Joe’s Valley Dam. Later he was transferred to Southern California to the Los Angeles Metropolitan Water District where he worked until retirement. He met and married Barbara Davenport. Together they had two children, Benny and Tina whom he loved very much.
Besides them, he is now survived by his only sister, Dorothy Childs, a loving stepsister, Marjorie Nielson and stepbrother Dale Ungerman, two nieces Debbie Fields and Diane Hagara, two nephews Allen Childs and Chris Beynon.
Preceded in death by one sister Virginia Beynon, and two brothers; Mervyn and George. Fred was a loving and giving man who loved his country, his family and his fellowman.
