SPRING GLEN-Our son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jacob “Jake” Stephen Milchak left us way too early in life, Aug. 28, 2011, to find peace within.
He was born June 25, 1987 in Price, Utah to George and Colleen Shutty Milchak.
Jake was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and he graduated from Carbon High in 2005 “by the skin of his teeth”. He was a former employee of Gary Prazen, where he was instrumental in helping build the Kokopelli statue and the CEU dinosaur. He later found his calling in life in the electrical field. Which by the way, his family knew he was destined for after putting the keys into the light socket at the age of 2.
Jake received several electrical certifications while attending the College of Eastern Utah. First he was employed by Electrical Contractors Incorporated, he later left following his mentor, “Big Buddy” Bill Flemetakis, for BODEC. Jake always took pride in his ability to harness electricity and was well liked and respected by his co-workers.
Jake spent most of his life in either camouflage or hunter orange while he was hunting for deer, birds, raccoons, elk or bear. He loved fishing, camping, and anything to do with the great outdoors. Jake took pride in training his coon-dogs, playing baseball and hanging out with his friends and nephews. Jake loved fighting with “The Sisters”, while they tormented him (dressed him up and married him away).
Jake is survived by his loving parents, George and Colleen Milchak; “The Sisters”, Laura (Billy) Mitchell, Jessica (Trapper) Burdick; nephews, Tyler, Darryk, Kaylob and Jack; uncles and aunts, Keith andColleen Haycock, Rege and Jean Shutty, Joe and Idella Milchak; cousins, Chris, Keisen, Brad, Adam and April; grandma, Arlene Milchak and daughters; and let’s not forget to mention, Jake’s many “Brothers From Other Mothers.”
Waiting on the other side to join Jake are grandmothers, Pearl Milchak and Mary Grace Shutty; grandfather, Stephen Milchak; aunt, Christine Milchak; cousins, Johnny, Billy and Bobby Shutty.
To know him was to love him. We will always love you Jake.
