FERRON/CASTLE DALE, UTAH-Lecta Linebaugh Olsen, age 91, passed away Sept, 26, 2011 at the Emery County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Ferron, Utah of causes incident to age. She was born Sept, 8, 1920 to Dr. Burleigh C. and Myrtle Barnes Linebaugh in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She married Travus Boyd Olsen in Los Angeles, Calif. on Sept. 2, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.
Lecta was raised in Pleasant Grove by her father, as her mother passed away when she was only 8 years old. She attended schools in Pleasant Grove, BYU, and LDS Business College. She worked for Emery County School District as a secretary in the district office and then transferred to Emery High School. She was treasurer of the Southeastern Utah Jr. Livestock Show for several years, chapter President of the American Red Cross and filled many other community and church callings.
She is survived by her children: Julie Johansen (Eugene) Pizzuto, Charlene (Paul) Tuttle and Glenna (David) Prevedel; siblings: John (Carol) Linebaugh, Paul Linebaugh, Jane (Roland) Robinson, Jean Bone (Ken) McClure and, Truma (Brad) Harding; sister-in-law, Doris (Clyde) Luke; 10 grandchildren, 37 great- grandchildren (another on the way) and two great- great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; in-laws; brothers, Glade (Thora) and Kayle Linebaugh; sisters, Jewel (Charles) Berge and Cassaline; brothers-in-law, Lorin Bone and Royal Fox; sister-in-law Norma Fox; and son-in-law, Kirk Johansen.
Funeral Services will be Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at the Castle Dale Third Ward LDS Chapel, 165 West 800 North, Castle Dale, Utah at 12 noon. Viewing will be Thursday, Sept. 29, at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, from 6-8 p.m. and Friday prior to the services from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery, 200 North and 400 East.
