GREEN RIVER,UTAH/BEAVER DAM,ARIZ.-Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and longtime friend, B. Eugene Lasson, age 77, passed away suddenly Nov. 21, 2011 at his home in Beaver Dam. He was born March 27, 1934 in Fairview, Utah to Bernard Grant and Callice Fane Hansen Lasson.
Married Carole Ellison, Sept. 11, 1959 in Provo, Utah. She passed away on Feb. 10, 1993.
Gene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He grew up in Birdseye where he was active with the 4-H. Gene graduated from Spanish Fork High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the US Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. After returning from the service, Gene attended Brigham Young University where he received his bachelors in electrical engineering.
With his degree in hand, Gene first started working at Hercules and in 1963 he moved to Green River where he was employed at the missile base. When the missile base closed, Gene went into business with “Digger” Odell Anderson and together they formed G & O Incorporated. This was a successful partnership that served all aspects of the construction industry for more than 30 years.
Gene was an avid golfer who enjoyed all the outdoors had to offer. After his retirement in 1999, he spent his winter months in Beaver Dam where he met many wonderful friends, which became his second family.
Survived by his daughters, Jeannee (Jeff) Hunt, Helper, Holly (Hal) Murdock, Price; grandchildren, April Olsen, Andy Olsen and Vanessa Hunt; two brothers and two sisters, Calvin (Corene) Lasson, Orem, Elaine (Howard) Johnson, Lehi, Mary (Richard) Steinkopf, Eagle Mountain, Richard (Carol) Lasson, Sandy; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Dale Stevens.
Funeral service, Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, 11 a.m., Green River LDS Ward, (101 North Clark Street). Family received friends at the church Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment, Elgin Cemetery, Green River, Utah.
