Emery boys basketball split games at home

Emery High split their two boy’s basketball games last week. Emery lost to Canyon View at home on Wednesday night 78-53 and then the Spartans came back on Friday at home and defeated Millard 68-59.
Dallon Cologie, a senior led the Spartans on the court in those two games. Cologie scored 27 points against the Falcons and then scored 20 points in the defeat of the Eagles. Cologie also four rebounds against Canyon View along with four steals and two assists. Against the Eagles, Dallon also had six assists and five steals.
Emery stayed with Canyon View through the first quarter of the game as they trailed 16-13 at the end of the period. The second quarter was different though for Emery. Canyon View outscored the Spartans 13-4 in the first three minutes of the period and then finished it off by outscoring Emery 16-4 during the last five minutes as the Falcons led 45-20 at the half.
Emery lost the third quarter 19-12 before winning the final period 19-14.
Also scoring for Emery in the game were Logan Tuttle with 12 points, Brendon Jorgensen with seven points, Bailey Faimalo with four points and Curtis Mason with three points. Tuttle led the way with five rebounds in the game and Faimalo had two steals and two assists.
Against Millard, Emery outscored Millard in each of the first three quarters to build a 15-point lead before the Eagles won the final period to lose by nine points.
Against the Eagles, Emery had balance scoring in the game. Cox scored 12 points, Faimalo scored 11 points, Tuttle scored 10 points, Dawson Jensen scored eight points and Jorgensen scored seven points.
Cox and Tuttle each pulled down seven rebounds in the game. Faimalo dished out six assists and Jorgensen had three assists and two steals in the game.
Emery has two away games this week. They travel to Piute on Wednesday night and then play at Carbon on Friday night.
