CLEVELAND-Our beloved mother and grandmother, Tessie Curtis Piantes Elfring, age 81, passed away Dec. 5, 2011. She was born Jan. 10, 1930 in Huntington, Utah to Guy and Ellaweas Bradley Curtis.
“Grandma Tess” was a wonderful and full of life little lady. She loved cooking, canning, sewing, crocheting and quilting. Most of her life she lived and worked on ranches where she loved her farm animals, horses, taking in stray cats, raising Schnauzers and participating in her riding clubs. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, dancing, the Utah JAZZ, board games and especially a good game of Gin-Rummy.
Tessie took many pictures, mostly of her family. These pictures usually ended up on her walls so she could brag about her family when everyone came to visit. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the jewels in her crown. We will greatly miss “Grandma Tess” and she’ll always be loved and never forgotten.
Survived by her three children, Heleen (Randy) Jorgenson, Johnny (Carol) Piantes, Cathy Christiansen; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, John Piantes and Carl Elfring; and baby daughter, Effie Joy.
The family would like to thank Centerfield Care Center, Mt. Pleasant Hospital and Hospice for the many years of special care she received.
Funeral service, Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) Price. Family was at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cleveland City Cemetery.
