The body of a missing Emery County woman was found on Dec. 9. The deceased has been identified as Stephanie Jo Robertson, age 49, of Castle Dale.
The Emery County Sheriff’s Office received a missing person call on Dec. 7. The caller stated that he had not seen Stephanie since Dec. 4, and that she was last seen at Esquire Estates Mobile Home Park where she resided. A deputy from Emery County Sheriff’s Office began contacting friends and family of the missing woman, as well as local businesses, in an attempt to locate her. The search continued on Dec. 8 with additional deputies assisting.
On Dec. 9, the owner of the mobile home park was checking for frozen water pipes in the park when he noticed a purse and sweatshirt under the edge of an abandoned trailer. The body of the missing woman was located underneath the trailer. It appears that the cause of death was hypothermia. The incident is still under investigation by the sheriff’s office. It is not known at this time how the deceased came to be under the trailer.
