HUNTINGTON – James Elmo Majors, age 70, passed away Dec. 18, 2011 in Huntington, Utah. Jim was born March 22, 1941 in Huntington to Charles R. Majors and Leona Wagner. He married Donna Fern Nielson in Huntington on Dec. 30, 1959.
Jim was a member of the UMWA since 1976. Jim’s loves were his family, the San Rafael desert, horseback riding, photography, reading, and working the farm. He enjoyed searching for and documenting Indian writings and artifacts. He was also fluent in the Navajo language.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; three daughters: Jimie Dawn Jones, Joy Lynn Majors, and Kelly Diane Majors, all of Huntington; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; mother, Leona Wagner; sisters: Karolyle Bowman of Huntington, Judy Palmer and Bunny Bean, both of Cleveland; brothers: Jerry (Jackie) Majors of Louisiana and Zen Majors of Huntington.
A memorial service to honor Jim’s life will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at 6 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 N. Center St., Castle Dale). Family will receive friends at the mortuary from 5 – 6 p.m. prior to the services.
