FERRON – Loran Kline Behling, age 52, passed away Dec. 17, 2011 at Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah. He was born June 7, 1959 in Price to Clyde and Grace Beach Behling. He married Lisa Thomas in the Provo LDS Temple on July 17, 1982.
Loran was raised in Ferron, Utah. He attended Emery High School and graduated from Utah Technical College in Electrical Automation. Right after graduating he worked for Industrial Electric then at Emery Telcom for 19 years and was currently working for the Ferron Canal and Reservoir Company.
Loran was an active member of the LDS Church. He served a two-year mission in Oakland, Calif. Loran has held many positions in the church, and was currently serving as the Financial Clerk in the Dutch Flat Ward.
One of the things he enjoyed most was working side by side with his dad and kids on the farm. A highlight for Loran was riding his horse on the mountain with his kids moving the cows. He loved music and loved to sing and tell stories. Loran found great joy in teaching young and old how to make an Aspen limb whistle.
The light of his life was his little granddaughter who lovingly called him “Papa Loran.” Loran’s greatest love and support was his constant companion, Lisa. He was a very genuine person and wasn’t afraid to say “I love you” to family, friends, nieces, and nephews. He had a great sense of humor and everyone wanted to be around him.
Loran is survived by his wife, Lisa; children: Loran Chase (Chelsea) Behling of Ferron, Whitney Behling of Provo, and Elder Taylor Clyde Behling now serving in the Michigan Detroit Mission; one grandchild, Lydia Grace; father, Clyde Behling of Ferron; and siblings: Connie (Larry) Anderson, Joan Smith, Becky (Kurt) Larsen, and John (Sandra) Behling. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Millsite/Blue Hills Ward chapel, 35 W. 200 No., Ferron. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, Dec. 20 from 6 – 8 p.m., and on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the services, both at the ward buiding. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery.
