PRICE – Erma Evelyn Bishop Atwood Ball, age 84, passed away Feb. 16, 2012 in Price, Utah. She was born to Clara Ludeen Christensen Bishop and Robert Oscar Bishop on Sept. 23, 1927 in Wattis, Utah. She married Freddie Delon Atwood on April 21, 1945 in Elmo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on April 21, 1947 in the Manti, Utah temple. After the death of her husband Delon, she later married George Ball in Manti, Utah.
Erma graduated from North Emery High School, and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various church positions throughout her life including Primary, and Relief Society. She was a full-time homemaker until 1978 after her husband, Delon had a major heart attack. She worked at Skaggs as a cashier for 10 years.
She enjoyed many hobbies that included: bowling, drawing, embroidery, fishing, playing cards, reading, sewing, singing, writing poetry, watching the Utah Jazz, and canning vegetables for her family. She was an excellent cook and was noted as a giving loving person.
She is preceded in death by her husbands: Delon Atwood and George Ball; son, Robert Delon Atwood; son-in-law, Kendell Branch; brothers: Norton Adams, Berdell Bishop, Reed Bishop; sisters: Dorothy Duncan, Josephine Feichko, and Ann Self.
She is survived by her daughters: Carol (Lester) Thayn, Beverly (Kendell – deceased) Branch, Shirley Atwood, and Lynette (Robert Jr.) Potts; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Verga Mock; brothers: Bobby and Ford Bishop.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Price Eighth Ward Chapel (995 East 700 North – Price, Utah) A viewing was held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South – Price, Utah) and will be held on Tuesday, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Cleveland Town Cemetery.
