William Rodney “Harley” McNee, 52, lived in Washington, Utah and peacefully rode off on his Harley early in the morning of March 17, 2012.
Harley was born May 29, 1959 in Murray, Utah to the proud parents of William Ray and Gladys P. McNee. Harley grew up a Marine Corps “brat.” As early as 3 years old he was following his father’s footsteps by standing at attention and saluting the American flag. Harley’s passion was to spend endless hours on his bike enjoying what he called “Cycle Therapy.” Harley spent 20 years as a coal miner in southern Utah. Harley will always be known for his great generosity and kind heart.
Harley is survived by his parents Ray and Gladys McNee; brothers Steve McNee, Matt McNee, and his sister Teresa “Reese” (Rob) Gregory; daughters Michelle (Mike) Golay, and Chelsea McNee; nephews, Jace Gregory, Trevor (Lynde) Komar, Matthew Thomas Ray McNee; nieces Tatia (Nick) Drage, Adrian (Marc) Jensen, McKayla McNee, Jalen Gregory, and Coco McNee.
Harley was blessed with many loyal friends and will be sorely missed on the open road.
Preceded in death by grandparents George and Maude Taylor, and Laura Mortensen.
A viewing will be held Tuesday March 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Heideman Hughes Mortuary, 1081 E. 700 S., St. George, Utah followed by a service at noon. Graveside service immediately following at Washington City Cemetery.
Everyone is welcome to come for lunch and share your memories of Harley.
The Last Ride
My ride here may be over
but a new ride has begun.
I speed on through the heavens
on my final glorious run.
My time with you was far too short
but we will be once again-
Just listen and you’ll hear my pipes
when your last ride begins.
