FERRON-A man who loved the Lord-A man loved by the Lord, Paul J. Stevens age 74, passed away on May 30, 2012 in Ferron, Utah. He was born on March 18, 1938 in Price, Utah to Claude and Lula Westover Stevens. He married his high school sweetheart Mary Lee Jenkins on Dec. 10, 1955, later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple.
Paul lived his life in Ferron, attended school in Ferron, and college at CEU, he was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many callings including Bishop, but most of all he loved working with the youth. Paul was a superintendent on remodeling many temple and church buildings. He was an example of honesty, hard work, commitment and trustworthiness. He was an entrepreneur who started and owned his own businesses. Stevens Hardware of Ferron and Castle Country River Expeditions. He was a carpenter and loved the great outdoors. Above all he loved his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee of Ferron, his four children: Kathleen (Eddie) Edwards of Green River, Wyo., Gary (JoLene) Stevens of Ferron, Utah, Stephanie (Mike) Clayton of Kenilworth, Utah, Brian (Misty) Stevens of Spring Glen, Utah, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two brothers: Dwain (Darlene) Stevens, Gerold (Judi) Stevens. Preceded in death by a grandson Joel Edwards, and a granddaughter Angel Stevens and a brother Darrell Stevens.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Millsite LDS Ward Chapel (35 West 200 North, Ferron. A viewing was held Saturday at the church from 9 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment was in the Ferron City Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
