The army of firefighters battling the Seeley Fire has increased to 465, with 20 engines, 8 helicopters and 11 water tenders. Crews were able to hold the line overnight and prevent flames from reaching Hiawatha.
As of 8 a.m., the fire was reported to be 10 percent contained. It is expected to trend north and northeast.
Cost to date of the fire is set at $1.8 million.
The fire is still deemed a threat to 250 homes, 15 commercial properties, 500 outbuidings as well as power lines, gas lines, and communication towers.
A fire information meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Carbon County Event Center on Monday evening (July 2). There is also one scheduled at Emery High School on Tuesday night (July 3) at 6 p.m. for the community as well. For more information, call (435)687-3030.
