FERRON-On Aug. 7, 2012, at the age of 66, Karrie Lee Duncan Behling returned home to her Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind, her eternal companion of 47 years, Jed Erwin Behling and a large posterity. She will be greatly missed by all.
Karrie Lee was born in Price, Utah on July 12, 1946 to Mervin and Ruth Duncan. She was the oldest of four children. She spent her first five years in Blackfoot, Idaho but mainly grew up in Ferron, Utah and graduated from Emery High School. She attended LDS Business College for a year. Her primary career was that of a homemaker but she also worked for the Emery County School District for 17 years. Karrie Lee was very talented. She had a special ability to teach and influence people for good. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left behind the fruits of her many talents.
She married Jed Erwin Behling on June 5, 1965 in the Manti Temple. Together they raised a family and built a farm and ranch. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many stake and ward callings. She set examples of service as she daily lived the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A highlight of her Church service was working in the Manti Temple with Jed. She also spent countless hours working on family history and completed an enormous amount of work. Her children and grandchildren were her joy and she always put their needs before her own. Many of her friends have expressed how she had influenced them and loved them throughout the years.
Karrie Lee taught her family to love the beauties of Ferron Mountain and the farm land that she and Jed developed. She will be remembered for the many family traditions she established. Her grandchildren especially looked forward to her annual grandchildren parties.
