Daniel Earl Gilmore, 82, passed away Aug. 14, 2012 at his home in Price. He was born to Robert J. and Anna B. Gilmore on Sept. 12, 1929 in Basin, Wyo. He married Joan Raydell Fleming on April 22, 1950 in Basin, Wyo. and she passed away July 3, 2011.
After graduating from Provo Trade Technical College Daniel then went to work at the Lawrence Livermore Radiation Lab in California in 1967. He returned to Utah in 2009 and prior to that they lived and raised their children in Washington, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and California. While in California they raised two grandchildren left after the passing of their two daughters.
Daniel was a member of the Elks Lodge #2117 for many years and also belonged to camping clubs, rock hounding clubs, and enjoyed camping with the family and making jewelry from the rocks he and Joan would find. Daniel loved his family and enjoyed having them around.
He is survived by his children: Linda Jean (Chris) Jensen, of Huntington, Patrick A. Gilmore of Bakersfield, Calif., Victor D. (Happy) Gilmore of Helper and 14 grandchildren, 39 great- grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, nine siblings, two daughters, a son, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home in Huntington where there was a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Cremation and interment will follow in the Huntington City Cemetery.
