Vallyn Bernard has recently published his third book. This book is entitled, “Semi Santa,” and is about a semi truck driver who bears a resemblance to Santa Claus. He finds ways to share the spirit of Christmas as he travels through the western United States making deliveries. Along the way, there are a number of Santa’s helpers who become involved as they look for ways to bring help to those in need.
Bernard lives in Lawrence with his wife Debbie and together they have raised six sons. His other two published books include “48 Acres” and “Pink Pigeons.”
Bernard is excited about “Semi Santa.” If he can create enough interest in the book then there is a good possibility the book may be picked up by Deseret Book for the upcoming Christmas season. The bookstore is always looking for Christmas stories for gift gifting at the holidays. They really like human interest and inspirational tales with a Christmas setting.
This book “Semi Santa,” has all the right ingredients for an inspiring Christmas story. Bernard encourages everyone to contact him to obtain their own copy of this book. It’s a short book easily read in a hour or less. Many people are buying the books for their children and as gifts for others. People have told him they have Christmas traditions of sharing Christmas stories with loved ones and this is a great book to share.
The theme of love and family are strong in this book.
If you like the book, Bernard is encouraging you to send him an email that he can share with those involved in promoting the book. He would like to see the story gain some recognition outside of the local area and he hopes you can help. You can reach Bernard at 687-2363.
Bernard feels like truck drivers are the unsung heroes out on the road. They are always stopping to help others and this book helps to spotlight the good these heroes can do in the lives of others.
