Mark Holyoak, a native of Cedar City, Utah has been the Chief Executive Officer at Castleview Hospital since 2011. He has been working in hospitals for the last 21 years. Many of those years as a registered nurse and nurse administrator. Mark received his undergraduate degree in biology/chemistry from Southern Utah University, then received his bachelors degree in nursing from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.
He later received his MBA degree while working at the University of Utah Medical Center. As the CEO, he is able to blend his nursing/healthcare knowledge and business knowledge, helping him to truly make the right decisions for the patient, the hospital, and the community as a whole. After spending time in Omaha, Mark and his wife, Patrice, then lived in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and most recently in Vernal. He is glad to be back in a rural community, where he feels he can really make a positive impact on healthcare services to the communities served.
After living in Vernal for 10 years and with deep roots established, it was a difficult decision that Mark and his family made to move to Castle Country in 2010, but they are glad they made the right decision. Mark and his wife have five children (ages 19 to 9), and they have been here long enough to realize that the best people in Utah come from the heart of the state right here in Carbon and Emery counties.
