Emery High hosted their lone home golf meet of the season on Sept. 5 at the Millsite Golf Course in Ferron. Richfield, Grand, South Sevier and San Juan all joined the Spartans in the region meet.
Richfield won for the first time this season with a score of 340 as the Wildcats upset Grand by two strokes. Grand shot a 342. Grand is the overall region leader as they lead Richfield by 30 strokes in region action this season.
South Sevier finished third with a score of 371 with the Spartans right behind with a score of 377. San Juan finished in last place.
McKlane Allred shot a score of 87, the best score by a Spartan golfer. Allred has been the most consistent golfer during the season. Jordan Fuller shot a 92 and had the second best score for the day for Emery. Teigen Jewkes, the second best golfer throughout the season, shot a 96 in this meet to finish third.
Emery participated in a meet at a neutral site on Sept. 12 as they traveled to Price and played at the Carbon Country Club. They headed to Moab on Sept. 19 The region tournament is in Richfield on Sept. 26. The state golf tournament will be held Oct. 1 and 2 at Rose Park in Salt Lake City.
