HELPER-Carlyle Raymond Allred, age 73, passed away peacefully Oct. 16, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 3, 1939 in Standardville, Utah to Joseph Daniel and Florence Jacob Allred. Married Rose Melo Nov. 23, 1996 in Helper, Utah. Carl was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, hunting and panning for gold. He enjoyed collecting antiques and coins. Carl enjoyed playing cards with family and always had an open door for friends. He worked for the Carbon County Sheriff Department as a jailor for many years and at Bezyack’s Better Buy as a meat cutter. Carl honorably served in the U.S. Navy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at Community Nursing Service and Pinnacle Nursing and Rehabilitation. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survived by his loving wife, Rose Allred, Helper; his children, Daniel (Terri) Allred, Ginger (Howard) Basso, both of Price, Dale (Brenda) Allred, Kuwait, Daniel Gagon, Craig, Colo., April (Larry) Gallegos, Grand Junction, Colo., Angila (Jeff) Southard, Craig, Colo., brother, Darwin (Kathleen) Allred, Salt Lake City; sister, Carol (John) Dunn, Price; special sister, Shirley (Ken) Nelson, Wellington; brother, Richard (Audrey) Allred, Carbonville; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents Joseph Daniel and Florence Jacob Allred.
Funeral service was Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family received friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Carl online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
