HUNTINGTON: Beverly Kathryn Tuttle Nielson, 86, of Huntington Utah passed away Dec. 1, 2012 in Price Utah. She was born Oct. 19, 1926 in Orangeville, Utah to Fred and Louise Tuttle. She was their first child and only daughter. She attended Central High in Castle Dale. She married Clair T. Nielson in Orangeville on April 26, 1946. Their family was sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple on Sept. 12, 1950. They made their home in Huntington and had four children: Kenneth, Kerry, Shelly and Chris.
Clair passed away on Feb. 26, 1965. Beverly continued raising their children on her own. She worked hard her whole life. Her main focus and interest was her children and family. She was always concerned with how they were doing. Family gatherings were always a treat. Beverly made sure there were lots of visiting, food to eat and games to play. She enjoyed camping and fishing and taught many of her grandkids how to fish. She knew the desert like the back of her hand and knew the most interesting places to find interesting rocks and fossils. She also enjoyed spending time at her daughters place in Joe’s Valley.
Beverly was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed being a part of the Huntington Fourth Ward. She served as Cub Scout den mother for many years and is remembered as being a lot of fun. She was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served in various leadership positions for many years. She liked to play softball and was asked to coach several times. Beverly was an active member of the Huntington Senior Citizen’s Band and loved it. She also served with the R.S.V.P. She had a fun personality; she could talk to anyone and had many friends.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Clair Nielson, sons, Kenneth Nielson and Kerry Nielson, parents, Fred and Louise Tuttle and brother, Orland Tuttle.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelly (Lewis) Gilpin, son, Chris Nielson, daughters-in-law Lynell Nielson and Vickie Nielson, brothers, Dennis (Maurine) Tuttle, Howard (Dawnette) Tuttle, sister-in law, Marjorie Nielson, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Huntington LDS Stake Center, 240 North Main. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, 720 North Center Street, from 6-7 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may sign the guestbook and share memories of Beverly at www.fausettmortuary.com.
