Laurel Weaver a new Director of the Castle Dale Senior Citizen Center
Maughn Guymon Director of the Southeastern Utah Area Agency on Aging recently appointed Laurel Weaver of Castle Dale director of the Castle Dale Senior Citizen Center. She took over the duties of director in October replacing Shirley Begay. Begay has changed her employment to the Emery County Archives. Weaver’s assistant and the Senior Citizen Center custodian is Karen Wilson of Castle Dale. She has five children two girls and three boys. Weaver is a fun loving social person and enjoys helping people where she can. She has worked at the Senior Citizen Center for eight years.
Once a month several senior citizens come to the center to assist Weaver in putting out a monthly news bulletin of the planned meals and other activities in Emery County.
Weaver is a great hostess at the Castle Dale Senior Citizens Center as was the former director Shirley Begay. They both gave the center a very friendly atmosphere and encouraged all senior citizens to take advantage of the opportunities to have a low cost good meal on Tuesday’s at noon, socialize with friends and neighbors, participate in any games that might be started, or just rest in the couches and easy chairs. They always play bingo after lunch on Tuesday.
