Price-Betty Hathaway, age 80, passed away on Dec. 6, 2012 in Price, Utah. She was born on May 26, 1932 in Clawson, Utah to Raymond D. and Edna Maude Jorgensen Reid. She married William Reeve Black on July 11, 1949, later divorced. Then she married Arvid Hathaway on Dec. 9, 1977 in Elko, Nevada.
Betty was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and also held many offices; she was a past District President, 8 and 40 past President. She worked for Job Service for 12 years and later retired from New Mont Gold, was a 4-H leader for many years in Huntington. She was a member of the LDS church serving as Primary President, and teaching primary for many years. She was President of RSVP and presented with an award of Senior Citizen of the Year 1998 in Battle Mountain, Nev. She was very active in various charities.
Betty is survived by her husband Arvid, children: Reid W. Black of Clawson, Utah, LaMar (DeLynn) Black of Price, Utah, Kathy (Frank) Gurule, of Spring Glen, Utah, Jennie R. (Gordon) Olson of Huntington, Utah, Ward (Melba) Black, Scott (Kim) Hathaway, both of Price, Utah, Stephanie (Kurt) Bellm of Ouray, Colo., Shaun (Frankie) Hathaway, of Price, Utah, 21 Grandchildren, and 25 Great-Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, George Reid, former husband, Reeve Black, son, Kenneth Black, brothers-in-law: Vern Simmons, Roscoe Black, Rex Black, Sylvan Hathaway, Doug Hathaway, James Hathaway; sisters-in-law: Boneta Simmons, Merlin Black, Darlene Hathaway.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South, Price). There was a viewing Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 from 6-7 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary and on Monday from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to the services at the mortuary. Interment in the Ferron City Cemetery.
