CASTLE DALE – The world lost a good man on Dec. 4, 2012. James Alferd Jensen, age 86, passed away at his home in Castle Dale, Utah. Jim was born Aug. 12, 1926 in Huntington to John Alferd and Ila Woolman Jensen. He married Elaine Jensen Dec. 10, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Jim was a coal miner, truck driver, and in construction, but first and foremost, he was a cowboy. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was father to a beautiful daughter, Renee, who passed away at the age of 12, and two handsome sons, who have made him proud.
You will forever be missed grandpa. We know grandma and Renee welcomed you with open arms. We love you grandpa, good night, sleep well, and know you are loved here on earth.
Jim is survived by his sons, John (Laura) Jensen of Fountain Green, and Kevin (Annette) Jensen of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers: Vernon Jensen of Cleveland, and Keith (Larue) Jensen of Roosevelt; and sisters: Rita Alderson of Price, Merle (Ralph) Henley of Tennessee, Ruby Fry of Arkansas, and Karen Marthaler of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; parents; daughter, Renee; and brother, Alton Jensen.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Castle Dale LDS Stake Center (35 East Main Street). There was a viewing Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 North Center Street, Castle Dale), and on Saturday at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment in the Castle Dale City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Jim at www.fausettmortuary.com.
