Wellington – On Dec. 8, 2012, Theron Lynn (Chub) Clark, 69, passed away surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 6½ year battle with cancer. He was born in Fort Duchesne, UT on Apr. 20, 1943 to Theron Tain and Nellie Darlene Spencer Clark. He married Vera Leora Erickson on Aug. 17, 1968 in the Manti Utah Temple.
Chub lived in Roosevelt until he was six then moved to Nine Mile where he completed first and second grade in a one room schoolhouse. He then lived in various locations in Carbon County until he was married. He lived in Payson and Springville for four years before returning to Carbon County for the remainder of his life.
He worked in various construction, ranching and mining jobs. He was never too busy to help anyone in need. He also served in the National Guard.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in many callings including Sunday school teacher, scout advisor, gospel doctrine teacher, counselor in the bishopric, high councilman, and family history consultant. Chub and Vera served as missionaries in the Washington D.C. Temple from 2008 to 2009.
Chub was very dedicated to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He always attended sporting events, rodeos, and school events. He loved family vacations, camping, fishing at Willow Lake, four-wheeling, going for rides, and riding his Harley. He enjoyed woodworking and would make special gifts for his children and grandchildren. He spoiled his grandchildren and would sneak them treats whenever possible.
He is survived by his wife Vera, children Cordie and Melvin Marshall (Huntington, Utah), Cullen and Christine Clark (Richmond, Utah), Jeremy and Anneliese Clark (Boulder City, Nev), Mindy and David Hardy (Wellington, Utah), and Megan and Matthew Johansen (Salt Lake City, Utah), 14 grandchildren with one on the way, and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his siblings, Bettilea and Earl Curtis, Smoke Clark, Muggs and Valynda Clark, Connie and Kent Norton, Shirley and Larry Lopan, and mother-in-law Leora Erickson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Von Erickson, sister Barbra Henderson, and sister-in-law Cleora Clark.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Wellington LDS Stake Center (935 East Main – Wellington, Utah). A viewing will be held Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South – Price, Utah) and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Wellington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Theron at www.fausettmortuary.com.
