PRICE/WASHINGTON – Paul Bert “Jack” Leonard passed away in his home on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the age of 87 with his loving wife and friend of 68 years, Violet Peacock Leonard, at his side.
Jack was born on April 18, 1925, in Peerless, Utah, to Leopold and Zoe Ellen Leonard. He was preceded in death by his sons, Paul D. Leonard and Dennis Leonard; and daughter, Sharon Louise Leonard Bettino. He is survived by his son, Brent J. Leonard, and his daughters, Jacqueline Leonard Zubal, Kayrene Leonard and Dianna Leonard. He is also survived by his brother Robert Leonard as well as 22 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
Jack enlisted in the Navy at the young age of 17. He was proud to be a Pharmacist’s Mate/Corpsman during WWII. He owned Jack’s Shoes in Price and Castle Dale, Utah, and was an avid fisherman. Jack spent many years as a temple worker in Manti, Logan and St. George.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at the LDS Chapel 1129 S 250 W Salem, Utah, Wednesday, Jan. 16. Viewing will be at 12 pm. Services will begin at 1 pm. There will be a brief graveside dedication following the services.
