MOLEN-Our loving father and longtime friend, Tony Carlisle Conder, age 69, passed away Feb. 14, 2013 at Beehive Homes in Elmo where he resided the past four years. He was born March 9, 1943 in Provo, Utah to John “Jack” Carlisle Conder and Mana Hayes.
Tony was raised in Provo, attended junior high in Helper and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1961. After graduation, he served in the Southern Far East Mission Field from 1963-1965. After returning from his mission, Tony attended BYU and shortly thereafter was drafted into the US Army. He honorably served his country in Vietnam from 11/6/1968-8/15/1970. Once discharged, he returned to BYU and received a Bachelors in Mandarin Chinese with a minor in Asian Studies.
On Feb. 2, 1990, he married Gaylene Winder in Molen, Utah and they had three wonderful children. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple; they later divorced.
Tony was employed with Utah Power and Light at the Hunter Plant where he was an Instrument and Controls Technician. He worked for UP&L for 35 years, and after retiring in 1999 he expanded his hobby farm of Polled Hereford’s into an Elk Ranch in Molen. Tony had a special love for the outdoors and this was one way that he could bring the wildlife to him. He loved bird hunting, fly fishing and his most memorable times were just relaxing and enjoying the solitude of the great outdoors.
His biggest and proudest accomplishments were his children. He was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
The family would like to thank Beehive Homes, the Skelley Family and staff for their extraordinary care of Tony.
Survived by two daughters and one son, Tawny Conder, Orangeville, John Conder, Provo, and Sidnee Conder of Castle Dale; his sister, Carlyn (Kurt) Auernig, Bountiful.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service, Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, 11:30 a.m., Ferron LDS Stake Center. Family was at the church Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Monday at 10 a.m. Interment, Molen Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Ferron American Legion Post # 42.
