Emery County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call from Price Dispatch at 4:12 p.m. on April 13 stating that a Utah Highway Patrol Trooper had located an abandoned vehicle on I-70 at Eagle Canyon in Emery County. Price Dispatch ran the VIN and it came back to a missing/endangered person from out-of-state. The UHP Trooper advised that he could see an unresponsive body at the bottom of the canyon. Emery County Sheriff’s Office and Search and Rescue Team personnel responded to the area. The body was recovered and has been turned over to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. No information is being released as to the identity of the victim until such time as the investigation is complete and family members have been notified. The depth of Eagle Canyon is approximately 300 feet.
